Administrative Professional Certificate Program

Administrative Professionals (AP's) are critical players, requiring numerous skills, in today's organizations. In our ever-hectic work lives, the ability to juggle priorities, be ready for action, and stay focused, all while maintaining a positive attitude can be extremely challenging for all employees, especially AP's. This certificate program is designed to help improve AP's time and priority management skills, enhance communication skills, increase professionalism, better deal with difficult people and situations, and enrich meeting planning.This no-nonsense, practical series of workshops will not only teach you skills and methods but will provide a safe environment in which to practice and apply what you learn. By the time you receive your certificate from the Administrative Assistant program, you will have the ability and confidence to bring positive change back to your workplace.
Part 1: Time and Priority Management

Do the ideas of planning, organizing, and setting goals intimidate you? If your answered yes to some of these questions, then this workshop is for you. This workshop is intended for procrastinators and for people who are way too busy. You will discover how your current work habits have developed over time, what positive changes you can make, reduce stress, and improve your productivity level.
Part 2: The Essential Skills

This session will focus on essential skills necessary for survival and thriving in today's workplace. Topics to be covered will include: Professionalism and Image, Diplomacy, Discretion, Influence, Verbal and Nonverbal Communication, Motivation and Self-esteem, Working with Difficult People, Conflict Resolution, Working Effectively on Teams, and Negotiation Skills. You will learn how to strengthen your people skills and use your professional image to your advantage.
Part 3: Meeting Planning and Skills Practice

This workshop will enlighten you about the stages of event planning, such as developing a working plan, budgeting, negotiating contracts, prioritizing logistics, and measuring results against original plans. In addition, you will participate in several exercises designed to help you practice and enhance the skills you have learned throughout the certification series of workshops. Come away from this series of workshops with more confidence, skills, and productivity. |
