About this Program:
This session will address the latest developments affecting impacting employers and examine changes expected now that health care reform has passed.
Health Care Reform: Comprehensive health care reform passed last month will take many years to unfold. There are, however, steps which employers should take in 2010 to assure compliance, preserve opportunities, and educate employees on what the law does – and doesn’t – do.
Technology in the Workplace: Widespread use of new software and hardware – especially portable devices — from smart phones to FaceBook, raises the stakes in the battle over maintaining control over proprietary information, places workplace privacy at increased risk & provides greater insight into candidates for employment. Failing to adopt comprehensive policies & practices can create both business & litigation risks.
Privacy – ADA, FMLA, GINA, HIPAA and other complications: The adoption of new privacy protections along with amendments to major employee related laws require careful attention to the proper acquisition, use and disclosure of personal employee and family information.
Who Should Attend:
- Human Resource Professionals
- Supervisors
- Managers
