**PRIVATE EMPLOYERS who had a CLAIM in the years 2007 or 2008**
must complete training by June 30, 2010


**PUBLIC EMPLOYERS who had a CLAIM in the years 2008 or 2009**
must complete training by December 31, 2010

 

 

Employers participating in a group rating plan who have had a workers’ compensation claim will need to complete 2 hours of mandatory safety training. This new requirement adopted by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) applies to any claim – regardless of size or severity.

 

Training Topics

 

Keys to Effective Safety Program Management

     This presentation focuses on BWC’s 10-Step Business Plan for Safety, which is a primary component of many BWC programs. Group-rating participants are strongly encouraged to implement these components to prevent injuries and control workers’ compensation costs.

 

OSHA Update

     Learn about the top OSHA citations issued over the last year for general industry and construction so your can ensure compliance. Look at trends in workplace injury rates and the new focus of the agency under the Obama administration.

 

Accident Investigation

     Developing a comprehensive accident plan and having the proper tools and documents readily available will help you capture the essential information and protect your business.

Tiffany Hastings

Tiffany Hastings is a Safety and Risk Management Consultant with RiskControl360. She has over 14 years experience in Human Resources and Safety and Risk Management.  She holds a Bachelor's of HR Management from the University of Toledo and has since earned her Professional of Human Resources certification.  Tiffany’s experience includes industries such as manufacturing, restaurant, retail, construction among others.  Currently, Tiffany is managing a book of business of over ninety clients varying in industry, type and size.

 

 

This Program has been approved for 1.5 recertification credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification by the HRCI.
